Hisense PX4-Pro vs PX3-Pro vs PT1: Which 4K UST Projector Should You Buy in 2026?

If you're looking for a premium 4K ultra-short-throw projector in 2026, Hisense now has three particularly interesting choices: the value-focused PT1, the award-winning PX3-Pro, and the new PX4-Pro.

The PX3-Pro was already one of the strongest UST projectors available, so the obvious question is whether the new PX4-Pro improves on it enough to justify stepping up – and where the considerably cheaper PT1 fits in.

The short answer is that the PX4-Pro is the strongest all-rounder. It increases brightness to 3,500 ANSI lumens, more than doubles quoted contrast to up to 6,500:1, adds a seven-level adjustable iris, extends image size to 200 inches and introduces Devialet-tuned 4.0.2 audio, VRR and FreeSync Premium gaming.

Why choose the PX4-Pro over the PX3-Pro?

The PX3-Pro remains an excellent projector, but the PX4-Pro makes meaningful improvements in the areas that have the greatest effect on everyday viewing.

3,500 ANSI lumens: 500 lumens brighter

The PX4-Pro increases brightness from the PX3-Pro's 3,000 ANSI lumens to 3,500 ANSI lumens. That's around a 17% increase and is particularly useful for sport, television, daytime viewing and larger screen sizes.

More than double the quoted contrast

Arguably the more important improvement is contrast. The PX3-Pro's 3,000:1 quoted contrast increases to up to 6,500:1 on the PX4-Pro.

Hisense combines this with a new seven-level adjustable iris and CineBlack Pro system, giving the PX4-Pro greater control over bright highlights, blacks and shadow detail rather than simply chasing more brightness.

118% BT.2020 colour

The PX3-Pro already offered an exceptionally wide 110% BT.2020 colour gamut. The PX4-Pro pushes this to 118% BT.2020, with Hisense quoting colour accuracy of ΔE≤0.9.

Up to a 200-inch image

The PT1 and PX3-Pro support images up to 150 inches. The PX4-Pro extends this to a huge 200 inches, giving it considerably more flexibility for very large cinema installations.

PX3-Pro vs PX4-Pro in one sentence:
The PX4-Pro gives you more brightness, more than double the quoted contrast, better black-level control, wider colour, a larger maximum picture, upgraded gaming features and substantially upgraded integrated sound.

PX4-Pro gaming: up to 2K/240Hz, 1ms, VRR and FreeSync Premium

The PX3-Pro was already capable of high-refresh gaming, so 240Hz itself isn't the whole upgrade.

The PX4-Pro adds a more complete gaming package with FreeSync Premium and VRR, alongside gaming at up to 2K/240Hz with Hisense quoting latency as low as 1ms.

It also includes cloud gaming through VIDAA, making it possible to access compatible games without necessarily needing a separate console.

Devialet 4.0.2 audio: do you still need a soundbar?

The audio system is another substantial PX4-Pro upgrade.

Hisense has equipped it with a 66W 4.0.2-channel sound system tuned by French audio specialist Devialet, with Dolby Atmos and up-firing speakers.

A dedicated AV receiver and surround system can obviously go further, but for a clean living-room installation the PX4-Pro can provide projector, Smart TV and sophisticated audio from one unit.

What about the cheaper Hisense PT1?

This is where the decision becomes particularly interesting because the Hisense PT1 provides much of the core Hisense Laser Cinema experience for considerably less money.

It still gives you 4K UHD, RGB triple-laser colour, 2,500 ANSI lumens, 3,000:1 contrast, Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced and an 80–150-inch image.

If you're mainly watching films in a darker room where you can control the light, the PT1 is therefore an extremely compelling value choice.

The PX4-Pro earns its premium when you want the projector to do more: brighter daytime viewing, stronger contrast and black levels, a larger potential image, more advanced gaming and significantly more sophisticated integrated audio.

What about the Hisense PX3-Pro?

The PX3-Pro remains a highly capable UST projector with 3,000 ANSI lumens, 3,000:1 contrast and 110% BT.2020 colour. It becomes particularly attractive if remaining stock is available at a substantial saving against the PX4-Pro.

However, where the price difference is relatively small, the PX4-Pro's additional brightness, higher quoted contrast, adjustable iris, 200-inch capability, upgraded gaming features and Devialet audio make the newer model the more compelling long-term choice.

Which Hisense UST projector should you buy?

Choose the PT1 if...

You want maximum value and primarily want a large 4K triple-laser cinema image. Its 2,500 ANSI lumens, Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced support deliver much of the core Laser Cinema experience at a lower price.

Choose the PX3-Pro if...

You find remaining stock at the right price. Its 3,000 ANSI lumen output, 3,000:1 contrast and 110% BT.2020 colour still make it a highly capable UST projector. It makes most sense where the saving against PX4-Pro is substantial.

Choose the PX4-Pro if...

You want the best all-rounder for films, television, sport and gaming.

Its combination of 3,500 ANSI lumens, up to 6,500:1 contrast, adjustable iris, 118% BT.2020 colour, up to 200-inch projection, FreeSync/VRR gaming and Devialet 4.0.2 audio moves it significantly beyond simply being a brighter PX3-Pro.

How does the PX4-Pro compare with other premium UST projectors?

The wider UST market includes brighter and considerably more expensive models, as well as cheaper projectors focused primarily on value.

The PX4-Pro sits in an interesting middle ground. It has enough brightness to work as an everyday big-screen television alternative, the contrast and wide colour required for serious movie viewing, and gaming capabilities that many traditional home cinema projectors don't offer.

For buyers needing substantially more brightness, Hisense's L9Q moves up to 5,000 ANSI lumens, but also moves into a considerably higher price bracket.

That makes the PX4-Pro particularly compelling for buyers looking for a premium 100–150 inch living-room cinema without moving into £4,000+ flagship territory.

Don't overlook the screen

The screen can make an enormous difference to any ultra-short-throw projector.

For a living room with ambient light, we generally recommend pairing the projector with a dedicated UST ALR screen rather than projecting onto a normal white wall.

A good UST ALR screen is designed to accept the steep upward light from the projector while rejecting much of the unwanted ambient light coming from elsewhere in the room. This can dramatically improve perceived contrast, black levels and daytime usability.

The PX4-Pro can also be combined with a motorised floor-rising ALR screen and UST cabinet, allowing both projector and screen to disappear when they're not being used.

Our verdict: is the Hisense PX4-Pro worth it?

Yes – particularly if you're looking for one premium UST projector to cover almost everything.

The PT1 remains the value choice and a sufficiently discounted PX3-Pro can still make an excellent buy. But the PX4-Pro's combination of increased brightness, more than double the quoted contrast, adjustable iris, wider colour, 200-inch capability, advanced gaming and upgraded Devialet audio makes it the most complete of the three.

For a dedicated dark cinema where price is the priority, you may not need everything the PX4-Pro offers. For a real-world living room where the projector will be used for films, Netflix and streaming, sport, everyday television and gaming, those upgrades become much easier to justify.
