Update

Three years on and I still love this projector. Gave a great Powerpoint slide show using it yesterday. Still using it for Iplayer and Netflix. Sturdy and reliable. Thank you to the informative and trustworthy people at Personal Projector. Definitley one of the best purchases I've ever made!

It works very well

I use this little projector in my photographic practice, projecting images in woodland at dusk. It works very well. You can zoom in and out which is important for me, and will fit onto a tripod. It cost a bit more than I wanted to pay, but I think it was worth the extra outlay.

Enjoying it

We had not owned a projector before but wanted something small and portable that could easily be put away but also good for watching films to give a different experience from watching on TV.
After searching around this model seemed to fit the bill. It is certainly small and portable and have found the picture quality and brightness to be good and it is a different experience from watching TV given the size of picture you can get. Am just projecting onto normal painted wall.
The android interface was reasonable and can access Netflix directly and have downloaded iPlayer.
However I have found have got improved experience with it by having an Apple TV box under sofa with good hdmi cable (one that comes with it not good enough). This means can control via Apple TV interface that is a bit slicker and the sound comes out of HomePod speaker that is in same room and sounds much better.
Overall very happy and has created a new options of what to do at night (only really works in dark room) and had some good film nights with family.

A very 'smart' projector indeed!

I agree with all the comments below. There are so many projectors out there that choosing the right one is a bit of a minefield! Before I was fortunate enough to find this website and talk with Oliver, I, embarrassingly, had to send 2 (from Amazon then eBay) back - the first was Chinese rubbish; the second was a massive Sony educational one (I should have checked the specs!). Listening to my requirements I was pointed in the direction of the above Pico Genie M550 plus. It was a little more than I intended to spend but I have to say its worth every penny. In fact its brilliant! Its very good quality, everything seems to work and, once you get used to it, its very easy to use. I needed it initially for 'guerilla projections' (I'm an activist!) for which it works well (avoid streetlights!) but now find myself using it every night for watching Netflix (which was installed) and iPlayer (easily downloaded via its wifi). All you need is a clear white wall and you've got your own amazing home cinema - and when you switch it off you're not left with a massive, environmentally-unfriendly widescreen piece of junk in your living room! The Bluetooth works well with the soundbox, but not for transferring files (as far as I can see), though its easy to do with a USB stick. Someone has clearly put a lot of thought and, dare I say, love into designing this model and I'd like to thank them for that. Its changed my viewing life. And thank you, too, Oliver, for putting me onto it. You're a star!

Very impressive projector

I contacted personalprojector.co.uk initially to enquire about another model which turned out to have been discontinued. I spoke to Oliver who is very knowledgeable and helpful and on his recommendation stretched my budget to the Pico Genie M550 plus 2. It is an excellent choice and it has more than lived up to expectation. It works beautifully as a table-top short-throw projector for my artwork and is also a very impressive home cinema projector at this price. It's very easy to set up and use , the home screen is very intuitive to navigate. The projector is suprisingly small and has a really solid, well built feel. It fits neatly into the sturdy, high quality carry case along with all the accessories.
