Getting to Leeds Light Festival

If you are coming from the south or via M1 the Tetley car park is a good place to park since it means you don't have to go through all the traffic in Leeds Centre and everything is a short walk from there.
Plan: Where to go at the Leeds Light Night: Top things to see
If you're visiting the Light Night for the first time and want to know the best places to go here is a good route to follow to ensure you see the big attractions.
The best exhibits will be centred around these areas so a good route might be to start at by a walk up the main street of Briggate and into the Victoria Quarter / Arcade Zone, then down The Headrow (Town Hall & Leeds Library for some warmth) and onto Millenium Square, followed by City Square / Station Zone (projections onto the Queens Hotel) and across to Trinity Shopping centre followed before getting back to the bottom of Briggate.
There will be timed shows as well as projections and art going on the whole time in all these areas along with market stalls and an array of street artists and performers. See below for the full list of events/shows. You can just walk around and see lots of different things going on almost everywhere you go on the route above.
You can also take a free water taxi from Leeds Station (near the Hilton Hotel) to Leeds Dock (see the map for more info) and there are plenty of other venues from the First Direct Arena projecting special lights onto its roof to the Playhouse, Opera North to name a few. See the MAP below for the full list.

The Leeds Light Night App / Paper Guide
New this year in 2019 £1.99. Currently the app, although it helps contribute to event funding, its a little light on information and we found the website has a lot more useful information on it. However, to help keep the event free its well worth buying the paper guide book for Leeds Light night which has a lot of good info inside.
